Accessibility statement.

This is a translation of our Erklärung zur Barrierefreiheit (accessibility statement) to help you understand it. The German version is the binding one, and if the two ever differ, the German text applies.

This statement covers all publicly accessible content on the domain www.fahrschulesuv.de. That includes the main pages, the class pages, the theory timetable, the pre-registration form, the blog and the contact forms.

We work to the W3C’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at conformance level AA, and to the requirements of the German Accessible Information Technology Regulation (Barrierefreie-Informationstechnik-Verordnung, BITV 2.0).

On www.fahrschulesuv.de we offer consumers the following online services, as described in § 14 BFSG:

• Information about licence classes (B, B197, B78, BF17, BE, B96): what you need, how the training works, the minimum age, the mandatory drives (Sonderfahrten) and how the tests work.
• Online pre-registration for your driving training (a step-by-step form where you choose the class and type of course and enter your personal details).
• The theory timetable, showing the current weekly plans and notes on public holidays and school holidays.
• Ways to contact us by form, phone, email and WhatsApp.

How to use them: every function works with a mouse and also with the keyboard alone (Tab, Enter, arrow keys, Esc). You can complete the pre-registration without creating an account. Required fields are checked before you send the form, and errors are described in words, not just shown in colour.

This website partially meets the requirements of the German Accessibility Act (BFSG). It was designed with WCAG 2.1 AA in mind. The following measures are already in place:

• Semantic HTML5 with a correct heading hierarchy and landmarks (header, main, footer, nav).
• A lang language attribute on each page that matches the language version (for example en-GB on this page).
• Alternative text for images that carry meaning; purely decorative images are marked aria-hidden="true".
• Visible keyboard focus indicators on interactive elements.
• Every function can be used with the keyboard alone (Tab to move around, Enter to activate, Esc to close a pop-up window).
• A skip-to-content link at the top of the page for keyboard and screen reader users.
• Enough colour contrast to meet WCAG 2.1 AA (at least 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text).
• A responsive layout that works at up to 400 % zoom without losing any function.
• Structured data (JSON-LD following schema.org) that describes the content in a machine-readable form.
• Legible typefaces with appropriate line height and word spacing.
• No input that has to be completed within a time limit.
• Forms where every field is explicitly linked to its <label> element, with error messages that describe the problem.
• Animations follow the prefers-reduced-motion system setting. If you have reduced motion switched on, animations are turned off or made much shorter.

As far as we currently know, the following content or functions are not, or not fully, accessible:

• Background videos: on the homepage, decorative videos without sound play automatically and in a loop. They do not contain any information that is not also on the page as text. If you have prefers-reduced-motion or data saver mode switched on, the video at the top of the page is not loaded. At the moment there is no separate pause button.
• Decorative animation: some elements move as you scroll. We respect prefers-reduced-motion, but in places a decorative effect may remain visible.
• Embedded third-party content (Google Maps, which only loads after a click): we have no direct control over how accessible this component is.
• PDF documents (the theory timetable export and flyers): some older documents are not fully structured for accessibility. We are improving them step by step, and if you ask, we will give you the content in another form you can read.
• Complex content (for example the weekly theory timetable grid): we are continuously improving the text description that goes with it.

We are continuously working to make all of our content fully accessible.

We prepared this statement on 7 May 2026 as a self-assessment. It is based on a manual review of the website (keyboard navigation, spot checks with a screen reader, contrast measurements, and automated Lighthouse and axe tests).

We aim to reply to your request within 5 working days and to remove any barriers as soon as we can.

If contacting us does not lead to a satisfactory solution, you can contact the conciliation body under § 16 BGG (the German Disability Equality Act, Behindertengleichstellungsgesetz). Its job is to settle disputes between people with disabilities and federal public bodies without going to court. The conciliation procedure is free of charge.
