About us · Düsseldorf Oberbilk
The driving school on Mindenerstraße
Fahrschule S.U.V. opened in Düsseldorf Oberbilk in May 2026. We have three instructors, a classroom in the same building, and a neighbourhood small enough to walk across. On this page you'll find out who we are and where to find us.
- Flexible times
- 8 theory classes a week
- Theory classes run on six days, Monday to Saturday, and you can start with whichever topic is next.
- Open prices
- No hidden costs
- Anyone can read our price list, so you can see what you'll pay before you sign anything.
- Three languages
- German, English, Arabic
- Every one of our instructors speaks all three.
The name
What S.U.V. stands for
The letters stand for three German words: sicher, umweltbewusst, verantwortungsvoll. In English that's safe, environmentally aware and responsible.
We don't just hang these words on the wall. They're the order in which we explain things to you: first what keeps you and others safe, then how to drive with an eye on what's coming, and throughout, what the way you drive means for everyone else on the road. In the end, that's exactly what the TÜV tests too.
The three letters
- Sicher (safe)
- You're in control of the car, and your eyes and attention are where something could happen.
- Umweltbewusst (environmentally aware)
- You look ahead, ease off the accelerator early and read the traffic rather than just reacting to it.
- Verantwortungsvoll (responsible)
- You take care of people who are more vulnerable than a car, such as cyclists, children and older people.
Instructors
Who teaches here
The school is new, but our instructors aren't.

Cobain
Driving instructor

Santana
Driving instructor
Marzouk
Driving instructor
Cobain and Santana show how they teach on TikTok and Instagram, which is the most honest preview of a driving lesson we can give you. Marzouk is listed without a photo until we have one of him, because putting someone else's face there would be making something up.
Day to day
How things work here
Six things you can expect between registering and taking your test.
- You arrange your driving lessons directly with your instructor.
- After every lesson, your instructor tells you what went well and what you'll work on together next.
- Theory lessons run on six days a week, and you join at the next one.
- You can ask your questions in German, English or Arabic.
- We go through the training contract and your application for the office together with you. There is some paperwork, but you won't have to deal with it on your own.
- Nobody puts you in for a test just because of the calendar. If we think it's too early, we'll tell you.
Oberbilk
Where to find us
At Mindenerstraße 106, between the main station and Oberbilker Markt.
Oberbilk isn't an easy area to learn in, and that's exactly why it's a good one. There are narrow streets, lots of cyclists, trams and junctions where you really have to look carefully. If you can drive here, you can drive anywhere in Düsseldorf.
The location pageexplains how to get here, where to park and what's nearby. If you're thinking of dropping in, give us a quick call first, because we might all be out on lessons.
